Follow God one step at a time…You see huge mountains looming, and you start wondering how you're going to scale those heights. Do not worry! God will equip you for the road ahead be that an easier path up the mountains or straight up the cliff. Walk by Faith not by site and trust God to open the way before you.

Another relevant Jesus Calling devotional for today and my thoughts below.
“I (God) guarantee that you will always have problems in this life, but they must not become your focus.”
God is above all things. We will always have troubles and persecutions in this world, but in these times and all times, keep your focus on Jesus and walk with Him daily. This means dying to ourselves every single day. God uses circumstances that are out of our control to lead us to surrender ourselves to Him. We can gain knowledge of Him by reading the Bible which is good, but not the point. We need to have a relationship with Christ. We need to be willing to humbly go to Him and confess our sins and see ourselves as weak and broken. “There is no one righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
In the sense of eternity, it really doesn’t matter what is happening around us (as far as circumstances go). It matters in the sense that we need to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others, but every generation has difficulties. Each day brings us closer to the end times. Do we know when that is? No. But we know it is coming and none of these circumstances will matter in the end. What matters is your personal relationship with Jesus.

Trust in God enough to face problems as they come, rather than trying to anticipate them. I’ve found that focusing on the what ifs or on the hard times to come, it robs us of the current joy of the moment. This can be very hard to do when going through difficulties but there is always joy to be found no matter how small. It may take a conscious effort or help from others to find something to be grateful for, something that gives you joy or offers you hope.

After what I witnessed today in Canada and the darkness surrounding it, this devotional is fitting and much needed.
“I am with you.”
God is with us. Do not despair. The world may be falling deeper into evil each day but we have hope, we have the promise of God’s presence. Look to Him for help, not only is He with you but He is holding you by His right hand. When all is said and done He will take you into Glory. But you need to live for Him. You need to die daily to the world. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21 ESV) In Him, no matter what we see or what happens in the world, we as Christians will always have hope.

“When the difficulties in your life feel as if they’re closing in on you, break free by spending quality time with Me (God).”
When we really see our problems in light of who God is they pale in comparison. God is our strength. Rely on Him to sustain you in the difficult times.

Let Him guide you through this day.
Your future looks uncertain and feels flimsy. But know that nothing catches God off guard, nothing happening now or in the future.
Do your best not to worry.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:34 ESV
God promises to care for you. Trust Him to open up the way before you.
